Coaching Staff

Head Coach Tauwon Taylor - Distance

Coach Taylor graduated from Moline high School and ran for Coach Jeff Quick. During his time at Moline he earned six all-state medals. Two in cross country and four in track. His specialty being the 800 meters. He went on to Western Illinois University and later transferred to Illinois State University and competed in Track and Cross Country. He was awarded a full scholarship at both universities. Coach Taylor earned a degree in Art Education and began coaching High School Cross Country and Track at Rock Island High School. He was later given the opportunity to coach with his high school coach Jeff Quick. 

Asst. Coach Grant Iles - Sprints / Hurdles

Coach Iles graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School and was a four-year letter winner in Cross Country and Track. He earned All-State honors in the 4x800m relay in 1996 and 1997. He graduated from Illinois State University in 2001. His former coaching positions include: Head Girls Track Coach, Blue Ridge H.S.; Head Boys Track Coach, Clinton H.S., IL.; Head Cross Country Coach / Asst. Track Coach Champaign Central. Coach Iles teaches Driver Education and Physical Education at Moline H.S. and is married to Vanessa Iles. Together they have a daughter, Olivia.

Coach Iles is USATF Level 1 certified.

Asst. Coach Adam Rasche - Throws

Coach Rasche graduated from Moline High School and threw for Coach Paul Carther. He earned 6 conference championships in the Western Big 6, 2 sectional championships, and an All State finish in 2011 in the shot put. He then went on to compete for Illinois State University for 2 years with the track team. Coach Rasche became a student assistant with the track team his Junior year assisting the throwing coach. He had his first coaching job with University High School in Normal, IL where he coached a state champion in the discus. He also coached at Prairie Central High School in Fairbury, IL focusing on the throws. Coach Rasche graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 and teaches Physics and Earth Science at Moline High School.


Asst. Coach Laura Polizzi - Jumps

Coach Polizzi graduated from Crystal Lake South High School and was a four-year letter winner in Track and Field. She competed in Hurdles, Long jump and Triple jump. Laura graduated from Augustana College in 2015, competing in Track for four years. There she focused on jumps and placed in the triple jump at the conference meet multiple times. She earned her degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. She currently is a teacher at Hamilton Elementary in Moline.
